1. About these terms

These terms are an agreement between you (the host or business using Threshld, and anyone you add to your account) and Threshld, part of Humble Abode ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using Threshld, you agree to them. If you're accepting for a business, you confirm you're authorised to do so.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information and forms part of these terms. A written quote or order form we agree with you also forms part of these terms. If it conflicts with these terms, the quote or order form wins for that point.

2. The service

Threshld connects your bookings to your property. It creates door codes, runs the TV welcome screen, guest WiFi, guidebooks and guest pages, sends messages you set up, and runs your automations. Some features are marked as early access or beta. They may change, and they come with less certainty than the rest of the service.

We keep improving Threshld and may add, change or remove features. If we remove something you rely on and pay for, we'll give you reasonable notice.

3. Your account

4. Your responsibilities as a host

5. Door codes and property access

Threshld is a convenience and automation tool. It isn't a security or emergency system. Door codes depend on things outside our control, including the lock, its batteries, the lock maker's cloud, your booking system and internet connections. We alert you when we detect a code that hasn't reached the lock, but we can't promise every failure will be detected.

You agree to:

You remain responsible for guest access to your property.

6. Connected services and devices

Threshld works with other companies' services, such as booking platforms, PMSs, lock and device makers, UniFi, Google, email and marketing tools. When you connect one, you authorise us to act on your behalf with it (for example, reading bookings or programming codes). Each service's own terms apply. They can change or stop working without notice to us. We'll do what we reasonably can to keep connections working, but we're not responsible for another company's outages, errors or changes.

If we supply hardware (for example a WiFi access point), what we've quoted you, and the maker's warranty, apply to it.

7. Guest messages and marketing

Messages you set up are sent in your property's name, and guests' replies go to you. You're responsible for the content, and for sending marketing only to people who agreed to receive it, with a working unsubscribe, as the Spam Act 2003 (Cth) requires. We may pause sending if messages cause complaints, bounces or spam reports that put the service at risk.

8. Fees

9. Your data and content

You own your data, including bookings, guest details, guidebooks, photos and branding. You give us permission to use it only to provide and improve the service for you, for example displaying your photos on your TV and guest pages. We don't sell your data, and we don't use it to market to your guests.

You can ask for an export of your data at any time. When your account ends, we delete your data as described in our Privacy Policy.

10. Acceptable use

You must not:

11. Availability and support

We aim to keep Threshld available around the clock, and we monitor it. There will be planned maintenance (usually outside busy check-in times) and occasional unplanned outages. Support is by email. We'll respond as quickly as we reasonably can, and prioritise anything affecting a guest arriving today.

12. Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or changes any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law that can't lawfully be excluded. Where the law lets us limit our liability for failing to meet a consumer guarantee, our liability is limited, at our choice, to supplying the services again or paying the cost of having them supplied again.

13. Liability

To the extent the law allows:

You're responsible for, and will cover us for, claims by your guests or others arising from your property, your content, your settings, or your breach of these terms or the law, except to the extent we caused the loss.

14. Suspension and ending the service

You can stop using Threshld at any time. Paid plans end at the end of the current billing period, unless your order form says otherwise. We can end the service with 30 days' notice. We can suspend or end it immediately if you seriously breach these terms, don't pay, or put the service, other customers or guests at risk. We'll explain why unless the law stops us.

After your account ends, you have 30 days to ask for an export before your data is deleted. Codes already on your locks stay there until they expire, or until you remove them with the lock maker's app.
